5th ComRel conference conducted

The Philippine Mine Safety and Environment Association (PMSEA), the country’s frontrunner in advocating responsible mining conducted the 5^th Community Relations Officers last Nov. 22, 2017 at CAP- Camp John Hay, Conventio Center, Baguio City.

Bearing the theme: “Consolidating Community Relations Work, Building Sustainable Mining Communities,” the conference aims to capacitate the community relations of the mining companies regarding the current issues in social development.

Engr. Zards Gacad of MGB CAR pointed out that government support is just as important as company/ community support to properly implement SDMP together with the continuity and impact assessment of the projects.

The conference likewise talked about the national unified information, education, and communication campaign for responsible mining projects of MGB hand in hand with the mining companies.

The conference was attended by community relations officers of the mining companies, community affairs officers of government agencies, information officers, and other stakeholders in the mining sector.
