Mineral Resource Estimation Training

Earlier this year, the Lands Geological Survey Division (LGSD) of Mines and Geosciences Bureau – Central Office (MGB-CO) organized a training on Mineral Resource Estimation using GEOVIA Surpac. The                 two-week activity was attended by representatives from the technical staff of MGB CO and MGB ROs at the Cocoon Boutique Hotel, Quezon City on May 27- June 7, 2019.

Parallel sessions for both advanced and beginner’s training were facilitated by the technical representatives from Paramina Earth Technologies, Inc. to cover concepts and procedures of operating GEOVIA Surpac especially in mineral resource estimation. The software showcases comprehensive tools such as drill hole data management, geological modeling, block modeling, geostatistics, mine design, mine planning, resource estimation and more.

As a follow-up to the said activity, MGB-CO spearheads another training on Resource Estimation Techniques scheduled on November 25-29, 2019 at the Hive Hotel and Convention Place in Quezon City to further capacitate MGB technical staff. #agotdumanas

MGB ROII Personnel participated in the CSC RO2 Invitational Fun Run

The Participants to the Invitational Fun Run by the Civil Serrvice Commission RO2.

To kick off the  month-long celebration of the  119th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary with the theme “Civil Service at 119: Upholding Integrity and Building a High-Trust Society”, selected MGB ROII personnel participated in the invitational Fun Run of the Civil Service Commission, Regional Office No. 02 in coordination with the Regional Council of Personnel Officers (RCPO) held at the Regional Government Center, Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City last September 1, 2019 at 5:00 am.

The proceeds of the event will accrue to the funds of “Pamanang Lingkod Bayani (PLB)”, a program that provides one-time financial assistance and scholarship opportunities to the families of our fellow government workers who sacrificed their lives in the name of public service. According to the Civil Service Commission Regional Office No. 02, joining the fun run is a way of manifesting our corporate social responsibility and personnel commitment to civil service. #imeegatanagaloos

Thanksgiving Mass celebrated to commemorate 119th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary 

Selected MGB ROII personnel together with representatives from the different national government agencies and local government units joined the Civil Service Commission Regional Office No. 02 in offering a thanksgiving mass to highlight the celebration of  the 119th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary.The thanksgiving mass was held at the Divine Mercy Parish Church last September 3, 2019 at 9:00 am. It is one of the activities lined up for the month long celebration of the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary with its theme, “Upholding Integrity and Building a High-Trust Society”. #imeegatanagaloos

MGB ROII Conducts Pre- Employment Examination

The examinees for the vacant position of Engineer IV and Administrative Officer IV during the conduct of the pre- employment examination

A pre- employment examination was conducted by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau  Central Office at the MGB ROII Multi- Purpose Hall last July 18, 2019 to the qualified applicants  of the vacant positions of  Attorney III, Engineer IV and Administrative Officer IV. The different examinations given to qualified applicants  are Job Knowledge Test and on line examinations on  Profiles Ethics Oriented Personality Assessment , Profiles Ability Profiler including Managerial Skills Assessment and Critical Thinking Assessment  which is given to Section and Division Chief positions.  Of the sixteen applicants for the different vacant positions only ten applicants took the said pre- employment examination.

Mines and Geosciences Bureau  Central Office personnel namely Ms. Sylvia Alcantara and Ms. Arlene Mendez served as the proctors assisted by OIC, Finance and Administrative Division Erlinda F. Catabay and Administrative Officer V/ HRMO Imee Gatan-Agaloos.  The result of the Job Knowledge Test forms part of the over all rating of the applicants  while the results of the online examination shall be utilized by the  members of the Human Resource Merit Promotion  and Selection Board  during the panel interview of the applicants. # imeegatanagaloos
